Mat2Rep develops treatment solutions based on the combination of drugs and biomaterials:
- three-dimensional nanofibrous supports (scaffold) mimicking the extracellular matrix fibrous protein, created by electrospinning technology and conjugated to bioactive small molecules;
- drug delivery systems (nanodrugs) based on polymeric nanoparticles, to transport drugs across the blood-brain-barrier and support a time-controlled drug release;
- electroconductive material and non-invasive electromagnetic stimulation, to improve endogenous self-repair of the CNS.
